Fresh Fleece

Our sheep, Rambouillet, CVM and crosses, were sheared the end of January 2012.  We skirt our fleece thoroughly which means that we lay each fleece out and take off the parts we know a handspinner would not want to work with.  

Many fleece will be available on April 28 at the 5th Annual Fleece Market Day at The Recycled Lamb, 2081 Youngfield, Golden CO.  After that, fleece will be available on our Etsy site.

Wool and Mohair Roving

You won't believe how beautiful this roving is! It's all Colorado and it's all natural!  Available on our Etsy site.

It is made from our white Rambouillet and Romeldale CVM fleece blended with our white mohair and processed by Lonesome Stone Natural Fiber Mill in Granby, Colorado.  The folks at Lonesome Stone scour, pick and ultimately comb this fiber which makes it SO luscious that it practically spins itself!

Grass Fed Lamb

A select group of our lambs are kept each year not for their fleece but for their meat.  Rambouillet and Romeldale/CVM are both dual-purpose breeds.  Grass fed with the hay produced right on the ranch, this lamb is premium meat that can only be found in a location such as this.  Sarah and her husband raise grass fed cattle for meat production, so this is a natural extension of their ranching business.  The meat is processed with care at a local custom kill facility, Double J Meat Packing. Mohair Fleece

This kid mohair is from the first shearing of our kid, Anela, daughter of our black doe Willow and the red sire ram Etienne.  Anela's fleece was red when she was born, but has lightened to a beautiful rich taupe color.  This fleece is soft to the touch like her mother Willow and it has a beautiful sheen.

This fleece would be beautiful blended with wool, adding strength, durability and shine to the springiness of wool.  It would also be gorgeous spun on its own.
